What Employers Need to Know About Austin’s Paid Sick and Safe Leave Ordinance

Ill entrepreneur sneezing at officeLast month, the Austin City Council passed a new Paid Sick Leave Ordinance, becoming the first city in Texas to regulate paid sick leave. The Council voted 9-2 to implement the policy, which applies to private-sector employers located in Austin, Texas, and requires employers to provide paid sick leave to employees beginning October 1, 2018.
