Professional Experience

Upon graduating from Tarleton State University in 2015, Justin began his accounting career as a Governmental Auditing Intern with Pattillo, Brown, & Hill, a local CPA firm in his hometown, Waco, TX. After three short months of working with the firm, Justin was hired by a client – McLennan County – as an assistant county auditor. During his tenure with the county, he worked with a variety of governmental agencies, including police departments, schools, and public services. Additionally, he focused on compliance issues with grant-awarding organizations, helping the county adhere to financial contract stipulations.

In 2020, Justin moved to Austin to pursue a master’s degree from Texas State University and took a job as a Staff Accountant for a small accounting firm, providing business services to clients, broadening both his academic and practical knowledge of accounting while gaining private industry experience, such as bookkeeping and payroll, as well as financial advising to a variety of businesses.

After earning his master’s degree in 2022, Justin accepted the opportunity to work at Maxwell, Locke, & Ritter. In addition to offering business services to clients on the Family Office team, he works with high-net-worth individuals, providing bookkeeping and accounting services. He enjoys the opportunity to work with a variety of clients while working in an environment that supports and encourages his professional and personal development goals.
