Why did you choose to do an internship at Maxwell Locke & Ritter?
Everyone I met seemed to genuinely enjoy working here and most came from Big 4 or had previous experience elsewhere. Knowing that I would be working with experienced people in a smaller environment really appealed to me.
What types of projects have you worked on and what have you learned during your internship?
I’ve worked on all kinds of clients which was cool to see. I learned so much during my time here. Everyone was so helpful and trusted me to complete all sorts of tasks.
What have you enjoyed most about Maxwell Locke & Ritter?
I’ve enjoyed meeting new people – everyone made a genuine effort to get to know me in a virtual setting. Social hours and team activities were always so fun and had me constantly laughing.
Are there any ML&R members who have had a special impact on your internship?
My mentor, Miso Yang, was such a great help during my experience. Whenever I had a question, she was available to walk me through every detail. Even though she was busy, she took the time to make sure I understood how to do things.
What do you think future interns can do to prepare for their internship?
Just come with a good attitude. It is expected that you won’t know everything on your first day so being positive and open to learn is a good place to start.
What are your long-term career goals and what’s up next for you?
I will continue to further my education and have accepted an audit internship with Deloitte for the next year.
