Family Office Bookkeeping Associate

We are currently seeking an individual with 5-7 years of bookkeeping experience with a strong understanding of technology in the bookkeeping and payroll areas to join our Family Office team. The Family Office Bookkeeping Associate is responsible for providing bookkeeping, administrative and clerical services to individuals and their businesses. This individual will work closely with our Tax and Wealth Management teams to provide information for tax and investment purposes. This is a full-time, exempt position. Overtime is required during times of peak activity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as primary client contact
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Record journal entries
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Process accounts payable
  • Process payroll
  • Prepare 940s, 941s, W2s, 1099s
  • Respond to notices from regulatory agencies
  • Prepare property tax renditions
  • Create specialized reports to meet the specific needs of each individual family group
  • Leverage existing and new technology to help optimize workflow as well as client experience

Education and Experience Requirements: 

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper including financial statement preparation or working in a family office
  • Must be comfortable with and able to learn new technology
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have extensive QuickBooks experience (online and desktop version), including accounts payable, account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Understanding of and experience with payroll tax processing and federal and state payroll return preparation
  • Experience with federal 1099 tax filings
  • Knowledge and experience with IRS FIRE system is a plus
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and present a professional image both in person and over the phone
  • Must be organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while working independently
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Scheduled Hours: Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm
