The family office bookkeeping associate is responsible for providing bookkeeping, administrative and clerical services to individuals and their businesses.

Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable and payroll
  • Code activity and enter data
  • Serve as primary client contact
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Record journal entries
  • Prepare financial statements
  • Prepare 940s, 941s, W2s and1099s
  • Prepare sales tax returns
  • Prepare property tax renditions
  • Respond to notices from regulatory agencies
  • Create specialized reports to meet the specific needs of each individual family group
  • Leverage technology to help optimize workflow as well as the client experience
  • Other tasks as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a full charge bookkeeper including financial statement preparation or working in a family office
  • Extensive experience with QuickBooks (online and desktop versions), including accounts payable, account reconciliations and journal entries
  • Must be organized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while working independently
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Experience managing multiple clients with varying needs and requirements
  • Ability to handle interruptions and switch from task to task
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills and present a professional image both in person and over the phone
  • Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent written communication skills including strong spelling and grammar
  • Must be comfortable with and able to learn new technology

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with investment statement QuickBooks reporting highly preferred
  • Understanding of and experience with payroll tax processing and federal and state payroll return preparation (W-2, TWC, 941)
  • Experience with federal 1099 tax filings
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
